Christmas Craft-a-long Week One: Make Something for Your House

I'm making felted wool Christmas trees to line my living room table. Here’s to a handmade holiday!

Every week in December, I’m inviting you to craft along with me. I have some projects that I’ve been wanting to make this holiday season–something Christmas-y for the house, some heirloom Christmas tree decorations, handmade gifts for the guys in my life, and a jazzy crafty contribution to Christmas dinner–and each week I’ll be featuring my project, as well as tutorials for several other projects along the same theme.

Most of all, though, I want to see what YOU guys are crafting for Christmas. So here’s where I get to announce the brand-spanking-new Crafting a Green World Flickr group and the CAGW Christmas Craft-a-long Flickr group. I want you to join our groups, I want you to submit your craftiest handmade holiday photos to the Christmas Craft-a-long group, and I want to feature those photos right back here on Crafting a Green World, where each week I’ll share some in my craft-along round-up.

I do hope that you’ll play, I mean craft, along with me this month. And to get us started, here are some excellent ideas for our first week’s project for something for the house.

I'm a writer, crafter, Zombie Preparedness Planner, and homeschooling momma of two kids who will hopefully someday transition into using their genius for good, not the evil machinations and mess-making in which they currently indulge. I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.

Visit my blog Craft Knife for a peek at our very weird handmade homeschool life, and my etsy shop Pumpkin+Bear for a truly odd number of rainbow-themed beeswax pretties.
