Homemade Granola

Your granola gift is easy peasy to make! Just follow the recipe below, which makes about 3 cups – one and a half pints – of granola. You can scale this recipe up or down to fill as many mason jars as you like. I’d recommend using quart-sized jars. A pint jar of granola feels a little chintzy to me. This recipe fits nicely into a quart jar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup sliced  almonds (or nuts or seeds of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250F.
  2. Combine the oats, almonds, maple syrup, and oil on your baking tray, stirring carefully to get everything well-coated.
  3. Bake for an 60 to 90 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to cook evenly. You’re done baking when everything looks nice and toasty.
  4. Transfer to your mason jar and toss in the dried cranberries. After you make the granola, just download and print out our recipe cards, cut them out, punch a hole, and tie one to each jar.
