5. Dress Shirt to Cinch Sack by Creative Upcycling

As summer approaches, I always have that go-to tote bag for beach trips, amusement park trips, etc. Instead of buying a new bag for the summer, make your own with this awesome tutorial from Creative Upcycling! It’s a great way to upcycle old or thrifted dress shirts and it will keep you from buying a bag from big box stores. Visit Creative Upycling’s site to see their step-by-step tutorial!

6. DIY Fabric Flowers by Chic Envelopements

Aren’t these the most adorable fabric flowers ever? Not only are they adorable, but Beth at Chic Envelopements made hers from an old t-shirt! You could even use Beth’s tutorial and pair it with the Mother’s Day Brooch tutorial to make a fabric flower brooch! I’ve decided that Beth is a genius at sewing/refashioning– she shared 3 projects this month and I wish I could have featured all of them. Be sure to check out her site so you can see all of her beautiful ideas!
