How-to: Pillowcase Trick-or-Treat Tote

PillowCase
First, cut two 2″ wide strips from the bottom of the pillowcase.

Next, turn the pillowcase inside out and cut the length of the pillowcase according to your child’s height. With your child standing with his/her hands to the side, measure the height from the tip of the finger to the floor. Then, subtract five inches and that measurement should be the length of the pillowcase.

In this sample. I decided to keep the pillowcase as is.

Fold the bottom of the pillowcase once and hem. Next, make a gusset for the bottom of the tote so that the bottom will be wider; perfect for all the Halloween loot and candy. If you need instructions on how to make a gusset, Crafty Daisies has a great tutorial complete with photos.
