4. Pill Bottle Pencil Sharpener

Flickr user sapheron says that to make this pencil sharpener:

Cut a space in the lid for a pencil sharpener to be glued in. The bottle was decorated with glue and shaved chalk. I don’t recommend painting with chalk if you expect any sort of duration with a clean desk.

Easy peasy! I think the best way to do this would be to trace the top of the pencil sharpener onto the inside of the pill bottle lid, then use a box cutter to ever-so-carefully cut it out. A strong glue like e6000 would probably do the trick to hold the sharpener in place.

You could really decorate this however you like, so get creative!

Have you guys done any crafting with reclaimed pill bottles? I’d love to hear your ideas!

  1. I sew and use them as sharps containers. Use a permanent marker to write “SHARPS” on the sides and top. I have a small “travel size” bottle to take with me and a larger bottle at home.
