James McClure’s Reclaimed Wood Art
I literally gasped when I saw these giant buttons from James McClure, and I crossed my fingers when I asked if he worked with reclaimed wood. He not only uses almost all recycled wood in his pieces, but he belongs to a group called the Artistic Woodturners of North West Florida that teams up to find reclaimed wood. The buttons were dazzling, and I also really loved the Chinese Tallow Bowl that he showed me. Chinese tallow is an invasive species in NW Florida, so creating art with that wood does double eco-friendly duty! Check out more of James McClure’s sculpture on his website!
