Five Upcycled Autumn Buntings and Garlands

leaf newspaper garland from Stitch/CraftTalk about utilizing boring paper! Newspaper is the ultimate upcycled craft material, in my opinion, because it’s ubiquitous–not only do we get a big bunch of it on our porch every day, but so do our neighbors. If we need more, there’s always the Recycling Center!

This newspaper leaf garland from Stitch/Craft is so simple–just leaves cut out of newspaper, watercolors, and string for hanging. The concept would work just as well for any shape that you’re contemplating, whether it’s Christmas trees or Valentine hearts.

I'm a writer, crafter, Zombie Preparedness Planner, and homeschooling momma of two kids who will hopefully someday transition into using their genius for good, not the evil machinations and mess-making in which they currently indulge. I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.

Visit my blog Craft Knife for a peek at our very weird handmade homeschool life, and my etsy shop Pumpkin+Bear for a truly odd number of rainbow-themed beeswax pretties.
