Fab Fabrics: Bold Vintage Prints from Miss Legacy

[Vintage Silk Chiffon fabric from Miss Legacy]

Stitch a little history into your sewing project with some beautiful, vintage fabric!

There’s just something about vintage fabric. I love picking up yardage from the past and wondering about it’s story. The designs and colors speak of times when maybe things were a little simpler. Of course, you can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Miss Legacy’s amazing stash of vintage fabric!

Janice, owner of Miss Legacy, has owned a vintage store for 15 years. She got into the vintage fabric biz when she “was lucky enough to buy the remains of a fabric store that opened in the forties & closed in the sixties.” She’s got a huge selection of fabrics from pretty much every decade.

I would love a scarf made from this fireworks-inspired chiffon:

This purple paisely really speaks to my skirt obsession:

You can check out Janice’s whole supply over at Miss Legacy’s fabric shop. Folks in Knoxville can scope out her vintage fabric and finds in person at her vintage store.

Have you discovered the joy of vintage fabrics? What sorts of things have you created from them?
