Got an old deck of cards that’s missing the queen of hearts or a Scrabble set that’s missing a Q? Don’t send that board game to the landfill! There are lots of ways to repurpose those old games!
Before we get down to the crafty goodness, this is my plea: when crafting with old board games, stick to ones with missing pieces or that are too damaged to play. You might not think that 1970’s version of Pit is worth salvaging, but that game might make someone else’s day! Repurposing is about giving dumpster-bound items a new life, right?
1. Board Game Purse
Pat Olsen at E-How shows you how to make a cute purse out of an old game board. To make this a bit more green, you can use organic or reclaimed fabric in place of the cotton duck and liner materials and stitch up your own strap, instead of using a pre-made one.
