2. Flowers
It’s nice to have a touch of spring in your home during the dead of winter. Real flowers end up dying, so why not make some flowers that keep forever? Over on Craftbits, there are instructions for creating your own egg carton arrangement. Also, Crafts By Amanda shows us how to make great lollipop flowers just in time for Valentine’s Day. The kids can help create these for their classroom this year instead of buying Valentine’s Day cards.

I buy eggs at my local farmer’s market, and most of the egg vendors will reuse egg cartons! If they get one from a different vendor, they just put their own sticker over it. This might not be allowed in all markets, but it’s worth checking.
When I was a kid one Halloween I dressed up as the Statue of Liberty. My mom made most of my costume, including the crown which was from an old egg carton>:)
