Five Hair Accessories You Can Make With Recycled Materials

5. Vintage Earring Bobby Pins

Even though this project found on The Budget Savvy Bride is for shoe clips, they are easily translated into hair clips. You could also sew on an elastic band to the back and turn these into ponytail holders. Using a pair of vintage earrings, you can create a one-of-a-kind piece to wear when you’re feeling extra special.

Have you created any hair accessories from recycled materials that you would like to share? What are some ways that you like to jazz up an otherwise drab winter palette? I would love to hear your ideas and see some projects. Feel free to leave comments, links, and suggestions.

  1. We can also make hair bows out of candy wrappers. Lay the wrapper flat. then join the top and bottom (length wise) together. Tie a string and put a hair pin through it. Now you can wear it from both sides!
