wire hanger plant markers (10 of 11)Did you make the wire hanger shepherd’s hooks from Part 1 of this DIY plant markers tutorial (or do you already own some garden hooks)?

If so, then you’re ready to make your hanging plant markers!

Gather up an assortment of found and natural objects, some bendy wire and strong glue, and any broken jewelry or stash jewelry findings that you may have lying about. You’ll use them to craft these sturdy, original, and informative plant markers:

The two supplies that you’ll need that you may not own are needlenose pliers, crucial for precision wire bending, and bendy wire–anything from jewelry wire to craft wire to all the types of wire found in the hardware store will do. If you don’t own these, then hit up Freecycle for some wire, and ask a handy friend to borrow the needlenose pliers.

I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.
