Mother’s Day is just a few weeks away (May 12, 2013)– are you ready? Instead of buying your mom an average gift from a big box store, considering making her an eco-friendly DIY gift that she won’t forget!

1. Newspaper Flowers by I Heart Nap Time

Instead of buying flowers that will only last for a week, why not make your mom paper flowers that she can keep around for a long time? I Heart Nap Time created these gorgeous flowers from recycled newspaper! I love all of the texture and colors they have.

2. Mother’s Day Plant Flag

If you decide to go with a plant rather than flowers, add something special like a plant flag. It’s so easy to customize your message or phrase with this project. It’s also a great way to add some sparkle to the average plant.
