Buntings, Banners, and Pennants Made with Natural and Recycled Materials: Five Projects

bunting made from cardstock, vintage wallpaper, twine, and vintage beadsThere is just nothing as festive as a bunting! A well-made bunting in just the right color scheme can take its place as your nicest decoration for a party, a holiday, or just that last touch to make any room in your house its homey best.

The nice thing about constructing your own bunting is that you can use exactly the patterns, prints, and colors that youu’re dreaming of, and you can use your favorite methods and materials, too.

Do you love to sew? Make a fabric bunting!

Do you love to scrapbook? Make an embellished paper bunting!

The following bunting projects have a bonus benefit, in that they encourage you to utilize recycled, natural, and found or stash materials, because the only thing better than a beautiful bunting is a beautiful bunting made from stuff around the house or from the recycling bin.

I'm a writer, crafter, Zombie Preparedness Planner, and homeschooling momma of two kids who will hopefully someday transition into using their genius for good, not the evil machinations and mess-making in which they currently indulge. I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.

Visit my blog Craft Knife for a peek at our very weird handmade homeschool life, and my etsy shop Pumpkin+Bear for a truly odd number of rainbow-themed beeswax pretties.
