5 Ways to Upcycle Cookie Tins

Upcycle Cookie Tins

I always love getting cookies or homemade candy in a cute Christmas cookie tin! After all the goodies are gone, though, what should you do with the cookie tin? Save your cookie tins and give them a new purpose this season! Here are 5 awesome tutorials that will show you how to revamp your cookie tins:

1. Decorative Chalkboard Tin by Serenity Now

This incredible tutorial by Serenity Now explains how to paint your old cookie tins with chalkboard paint and spray paint. Of course I would recommend changing the regular spray paint to low VOC spray paint. You can write a personal message on the lid to whoever you’re giving goodies to, or if you want to store craft supplies in the tin, you can easily label it! This is a tin you could easily use all year round– occasions from birthdays to Christmas, and supplies from ribbon to buttons! If you love the vintage look of doilies, the next tutorial has your name all over it!

  1. I Have many tops of cookie containers, as I used the containers for Chritmas arrangements for a program at our Garden Club, but would be interested if you had any craft ideas to make use of the lids. Thank you, Joan Hartzel
