Fab Fabrics: Recycled Felt and Four Felt Projects

Recycled wool felt for crafting.
We’ve talked about the joys of recycled felt before. Whether we’re talking felted wool from reclaimed sweaters or Kunin’s Eco-fi made from recycled plastic bottles, crafting with recycled felt is a great way to lighten your DIY footprint.

Recycled Wool Felt

It’s easy as pie to make your own recycled wool felt. All you need is a wool sweater, a washing machine, and possibly your dryer. If you’re not into tracking down and felting your own wool sweaters, you can find felted wool sellers on Etsy, like The Do Dad Chick.

Kunin Eco-fi

Kunin makes crafting felt from recycled plastic soda bottles. Every pound of Eco-fi felt we use translates to 10 plastic bottles diverted from the landfills and instead turned into something cute and new. You can find Kunin felt at a number of online suppliers, like Felt-o-Rama and Create for Less.
