Tutorial: How to Sew a Sweet and Simple Pillowcase Skirt

Now that the girls are older, however, and wear those babyhood pillowcase dresses as cute little tops, I’ve discovered that their longer legs mean that I can make good use of a pillowcase in a pretty print by sewing them other articles of clothing, such as the comfiest pajama pants in the universe, or this quick and easy pillowcase skirt.

A pillowcase skirt can be sewn for a slender adult as well as a child. For a summery country look, use a pillowcase printed in a vintage flower pattern. Pillowcases printed in novelty patterns and licensed character prints are also fun, though, so feel free to cut up that Batman pillowcase from your childhood bed while you’re at it.

  2. I can totally see this look as one that would look really great on a lot of adults, too–not me, but a lot of other adults. I warn you, though–those vintage linen pillowcases are a little on the thin side, know what I mean? Slips and linings are our friends!
