How-to: Thrift Store Figurine to Revamped Decor

What You Need:

  • Any figurine that really strikes your fancy: animals, busts, weird statues, you name it! I found this set of composer busts at my local thrift store.
  • Paint or spray paint. I just happened to have paint on hand. Just make sure you get a low VOC spray paint!
  • Paint brush
  • High gloss sealant. This is only necessary if you aren’t using spray paint with a high gloss finish. I like the glossy look because it gives the appearance of the piece being glass or ceramic, but you can skip this step if you prefere a matte finish.

You want to begin by cleaning off your figures. Any dust or dirt will get caught in your paint and not give you that smooth look. Dry thoroughly.
