Five Fabulous Sites for Free Craft Patterns and Tutorials
Are you looking for something new to do? I found five great sites that are filled with tons of craft patterns and tutorials and they’re all free. Some even give you the option of downloading pdf patterns.
The sites may not be focused on being a green crafter, but if you’re creative enough you can take the ideas they offer and substitute your own green craft supplies instead of using what they suggest.
The first site is Artbeads.com. They sell beads and beading supplies but they also have a learning center filled with instructional videos, tutorials and lots of ideas for jewelry and other crafts that use beads. They even have a section for holiday crafts and wedding crafts. If you choose to buy supplies from them they have a list and order form with each craft so you know exactly what to purchase. Or you can ignore the buy links and take the idea and make it with what you already have on hand.
Totally Tutorials totally rocks. They have a great selection of tutorials for anything and everything; recipes, sewing, upcycling, stained glass and even directions on fixing things around the home. It’s great. I plan to spend some time at this site exploring.
WhatTheCraft.com looks like a relatively new site but it shows a lot of promise. It is filled with ideas, links, interviews, giveaways and tutorials, this site will be added to my craft inspiration list.
CraftBits.com is a great site filled with all kinds of craft ideas and tutorials. It’s a bit busy but not hard to navigate. They even have a big section of recycled crafts.
If knitting, crocheting or making other yarn crafts is your thing, you’ll love Lion Brand. They have a huge database of craft patterns and tutorials that use yarn. From beginning level knitters and crocheters to advanced yarn crafters and even some patterns for kids that need no knit or crochet experience at all, you’ll find it all. You have to sign up for an account to access the database, but it’s free and well worth access to all the downloadable patterns and tutorials.
