How To: Upcycle an Old Window Frame into a Memo Board

How To: Upcycle an Old Window Frame into a Memo Board

Turn an old window frame into a unique memo board for your home!

What You Will Need:

1. An old window frame

2. Chicken wire

3. Wire cutters

4. Eco-friendly paint

5. Sand paper

6. Mini clothespins

7. A staple gun and staples

How To Do It:

1. Depending on the age of your window, please make sure the existing paint does not contain lead by using lead paint swabs. Once you have checked that, you can sand the window. This is what I started with:

2. Paint it! I painted mine a nice creamy white. Then, I gave it a shabby chic look by distressing the edges.

3. Once the paint has dried, turn your frame over and staple the chicken wire to the back. Chicken wire isn’t the easiest product to work with, so be careful! I put a staple every few inches so that it would be secure enough to hold a lot of memos.

4. Trim any excess chicken wire with wire cutters.

Add some clothespins (you can even decorate your clothespins, if you want) and you’re ready to add your memos or photos. You could also use this piece as a unique craft booth display or to display your personal jewelry!
