Edible Crafts: Chocolate and Peanut Butter Playdough

Cocoa Powder

Edible Chocolate Playdough

You can make chocolate-scented playdough that’s not edible, but where’s the fun in that? This recipe is as tasty as it is simple.

In a large bowl, mix:
2 cups vanilla frosting (home made or store bought will do)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Mix this up well. If it’s too sticky, add more powdered sugar. If it’s on the crumbly side, you can add a small amount of water (1/2 teaspoon at a time) to moisten it up.

I think this chocolate recipe would be really easy to adapt. Just replace the cocoa powder with more powdered sugar, and you have an edible playdough base for experimenting. Organic extracts like strawberry, vanilla, or coconut would be really fun to play with. You could make a whole buffet of flavored playdough for crafting and snacking!

Have you made any edible playdough? I’d love to hear your recipes in the comments!
