Cómo: Haz un banderín de páginas de libro sin pegamento

Confession time: I am obsessed with bunting. Anything strung up in a row strikes me as so sweet and eye-catching. When one of my very favorite people had a birthday coming up, I decided to whip up a bit of bunting for his party. He’s an amazing writer, so book pages felt like the perfect medium for his birthday streamer.

The trick when you’re crafting with books is to make sure what you have is junk and not a treasure. If you find a vintage book in good condition, you’re better off leaving it for someone who will enjoy it in its entirety. The trick is finding books that are damaged. That’s when you’re really diverting waste from the landfill with your crafty powers!

So, you’ve got your past-its-prime book? You’re almost ready to make your bunting!

Materiales

• reclaimed book
• 1″ round hole punch
• standard size hole punch (mine is heart-shaped, but any small shape will do)
• 60″ length of yarn or string – use something from your stash to make this a totally green project. This would be a great opportunity to bust out that cordel de cáñamo!

Cómo llegar

1. Punch out 30 circles from your book pages using the 1″ hole punch.

2. Grab your small hole punch, and punch two holes on each of your circles, like this:

3. You’re ready to string! Take one of your circles, then feed the string through one of the small holes, across the front, and then through the other hole. Ever so gently slide the circle until it’s 12″ from the end of your string.

4. Repeat step 3 with all of the circles, leaving about 1/4″ to 1/2″ between each circle. When you’re done, you should have around 12″ of tail on each end, that you’ll use to hang your bunting. If it’s looking a little short on either end, just adjust the circles until it’s looking pretty much even.
