How-to: Painted Popcorn Garland

popcorn garland strung on threadYou can add a variety of other embellishments to your popcorn garland–beads, cranberries, buttons, dyed dry pasta, cereal, non-sticky candy, etc. Just don’t forget to factor in the fact that for every piece of popcorn that you string, you’ll eat at least a dozen–popcorn is tasty!

I'm a writer, crafter, Zombie Preparedness Planner, and homeschooling momma of two kids who will hopefully someday transition into using their genius for good, not the evil machinations and mess-making in which they currently indulge. I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.

Visit my blog Craft Knife for a peek at our very weird handmade homeschool life, and my etsy shop Pumpkin+Bear for a truly odd number of rainbow-themed beeswax pretties.

  1. I just love this idea! And I’m from the south too and yeah I get it needing colored. Ooo ya know a great purple and yellow for LSU would be great in the front yards Christmas tree. =) Thanks for the idea.
