Closet Clean-Out: Five Ways to Upcycle Wire Hangers

wire coat hanger magazine rackThe neatest thing about this wire coat hanger magazine rack, tutorial courtesy of Artists Helping Children, is the fact that you don’t even need to cut the wire at all to make it.

Like wire hanger origami, all you have to do is simply bend and fold the wire hanger to form a surprisingly useful magazine rack. If you like to vend at craft fairs, you’ll be pleased to note that this rack also makes a fine easel to display multiple copies of mounted artwork or prints.

I'm a writer, crafter, Zombie Preparedness Planner, and homeschooling momma of two kids who will hopefully someday transition into using their genius for good, not the evil machinations and mess-making in which they currently indulge. I'm interested in recycling and nature crafts, food security, STEM education, and the DIY lifestyle, however it's manifested--making myself some underwear out of T-shirts? Done it. Teaching myself guitar? Doing it right now.

Visit my blog Craft Knife for a peek at our very weird handmade homeschool life, and my etsy shop Pumpkin+Bear for a truly odd number of rainbow-themed beeswax pretties.
