I know that the New Year is typically about resolutions, but what if we kicked off 2016 by thinking about what we’re grateful for? I’m not knocking New Year’s resolutions at all. Setting intentions for the new year is a great thing to do, in my estimation. But I think it’s easy to get caught up in how we want to improve ourselves and forget to be thankful for what we already have. Let your guests make this pretty gratitude bunting, and you can hang it up as a reminder to practice gratitude all year long.

New Year’s Eve Party Craft: Gratitude Banner

Materials

paper – raid your stash! I used Christmas cards, but you can use any paper you have handy.

pens or markers – I used metallic Sharpies, because of course I did. But also because they write well on dark paper, which allowed me to use more of the paper I had handy.

string – Yarn, ribbon, baking twine, hemp twine – anything that hangs well works perfectly.

clothespins

Directions

1. Cut your paper to size. I mixed up my sizes and cut the paper just to trim away any parts of the Christmas cards that I didn’t want to include in my bunting. They’re all around the size of a playing card, but not quite.

2. Put out the paper, markers, and clothespins at your party, and let your guests write down something that they’re grateful for. Make sure you have a box or something to collect the finished ones.

3. Use your clothespins to hang their sweet sentiments on your twine, then hang the twine from a wall where you can enjoy it all year long.
