Homemade tea can be very simple or more complicated, and you can customize your recipes to suit your own tastes. These are some of our favorite hand-crafted tea ideas to stock your pantry or for your gift list!

Some of these teas are ones that you brew on-demand and others are recipes for homemade tea blends and tea-related ideas that work well as gifts. I wanted to cover an array of tea options, so there would truly be something for everyone here.

I know – it seems so early to think about holiday giving, but you guys. Making hand-crafted gifts takes time and planning. Homemade tea blends are great stocking stuffers, and usually they keep for six to 12 months in an airtight container. Pair a half-pint mason jar of DIY tea with a cute tea ball, and you have a great little gift to tuck away until the holidays. These also work well for non-holiday gifts, of course. Teacher gifts for the new school year, anyone?

Normally when I talk about versatile food and drink, I like to give what’s called a skeleton recipe. This is a recipe that calls for ingredient types rather than specific ingredients. It’s sort of a cooking choose-your-own adventure situation. With homemade tea, though, there are so many variables. Some herbs and spices work well as the stars of the show while others work best in small quantities. The amounts can vary so wildly!

So.

Instead of a skeleton recipe, I dug deep into our archives and those of our sister sites. Because there are a ton of great homemade tea ideas in there, waiting to shine. And here they are!
