What I love about this tutorial from our sister site Sustainablog is that it’s customizable. Sure, you can go with a votive holder and burlap, like in the picture, but you can also use what you have. No burlap? Use any cool fabric scraps you have handy! Don’t have a votive? Update other glass containers! This project is versatily enough to work with basically any fabric and glass combination you have.

Burlap Votive Holder

You will need:

+ A votive holder or an old glass container. Here’s how to clean out a reclaimed glass container, if you’re using something from your recycle bin.

+ Scissors.

+ Stencil. Optional, but fun for adding a little interest to plainer fabric.

+ Zero VOC fabric paint. Optional. This is for the stencil.

+ Paint brush or sponge brush. Optional. This is for the stencil.

+ Hot glue and a glue gun. The Sustainablog tute lists adhesive, and hot glue works well for sticking fabric to glass.
