Are you getting your backyard cookout-ready? Instead of buying new furniture, check out how Rachel Denbow from A Beautiful Mess turned an old deck chair into a statement piece.

My husband and I are lucky enough to have a set of vintage aluminum deck chairs, and I’ve been dreading the day that the webbing starts to go. It’s hard to find replacement webbing for something that’s 30 or 40 years old! Denbow’s work-around is more than just a savvy solution. It’s gorgeous.

If you don’t have an aluminum deck chair already, they’re pretty easy to find, especially right now. And especially if you want one with broken webbing. Try yard saling for one!

To repair your own old deck chair, you’ll need:

  • aluminum chair
  • paracord and macrame cord in varying colors but similar in size (150′-200′ total, depending on chair size)
  • scissors
  • flathead screwdriver
  • rubber band

That’s it! Click here for the complete tutorial over at A Beautiful Mess.
