Inhabitat Announces Winners of 2010 Spring Greening Competition

Sring Greening

Inhabitat has announced the winners of their annual Spring Greening Competition where the site looks “for creative and clever designs that find new uses for old household items.”

The Reader’s Choice award went to Sarah Turner, who turns soda bottles into beautiful and intricate lamps, while the Editor’s Choice went to SystemDesignStudio, who created storage shelves from discarded bike tires and furniture legs.

All of the entries reused discarded items in clever and wonderful ways to create fun and fancy new household items. Out of the entries that didn’t make the big cut, the light bulb planter and spice rack are top on my list. They look super cool. I’m also a fan of the cereal box map, as it looks like to would be super fun to make.

Which one(s) are your favorites?
