A Review of The Salvage Studio

The Salvage Studio: Sustainable Home Comforts to Organize, Entertain, and Inspire is the perfect book to get you in the mood for Spring cleaning, creative organization and inspiration, and some very inspired eco-craftiness.

This book even made me head out to the local antique mall and resale shops to see if I could find some amazing stuff to get my creativity flowing. Unfortunately my trip was a bust but the book is still a must.

The Salvage Studio: Sustainable Home Comforts to Organize, Entertain, and Inspire has me wishing it was summer now so I could hit yard sales and flea markets with abandon.

I love the ideas in this book.

Silverware is transformed into wall hooks,  jewelry,  place card holders, handles and pulls for cupboard doors, and even little easels.

Old dominoes and a silver tray are transformed into a stylish clock.

Drawers are turned into wall shelves and storage.

Trust me you’ll never look at junk the same way again. This book is amazing and has my winter dead craftiness up and running once again just in time for spring. I am so glad I stumbled across this book.  It’s been out since 2008 but it is brand new to me.

I find it to be similar to the junk beautiful books though the projects are much more accessible- I mean they showcase items and makeovers that are super easy to find and transform like: old garden rakes, old silverware and mismatched china cups and saucers- not one of a kind finds that could never really be duplicated. At least not without some serious searching.

I love the shabby chic, vintage styled craft nook they create with their projects. Makes me want to clean out of my office and give it an overhaul.
