Last year I made Eco-Friendly "Sparklers" to decorate for the 4th of July. This year, I created colorful recycled "firecrackers" using items that you probably already have in your craft stash! Here's how you can make your own

Make a Shamrock from a Toilet Paper Roll

March 2nd, 2012 | by Bonnie Getchell

After posting last week's project, Upcycled Candle Holder into a Mini Easter Basket, I realized I completely skipped over St. Patrick's Day! To get some inspiration, I visited Pinterest. I found an adorable St. Patrick's Day banner tutorial from The Crafting Chicks that I loved! I especially liked the "leaves" of the shamrock that were made from hearts. Then, I remembered a post that I saw on TPcraft.com, where they made toilet paper rolls into hearts. Combining the two amazing projects, I came up with toilet paper roll shamrocks!

This week I wanted to create a project that brought the outside, in (because it's too cold to go outside right now!). I looked around my house for inspiration and I found a cardboard box and toilet paper rolls. I've done projects with toilet paper rolls before like the Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Lights and the Christmas "Candle" Cover, but I wanted to make something more natural-looking. Drawing inspiration from a fall project I did on my personal blog, I created a Cardboard and Toilet Paper Roll Tree!

Christmas decorations can be very wasteful, so why not recycle items you already have around your home? I mentioned in my How To: Transform Christmas "Candles" post that I am addicted to using toilet paper rolls in craft projects. Well, my love for them has not changed-- especially after this project! I decided to take my love for toilet paper rolls and combine it with my love for Christmas decorations. It made a beautiful combination--toilet paper "Christmas Lights."

How-to: Transform Classic Christmas “Candles”

November 17th, 2011 | by Bonnie Getchell

I always thought these faux Christmas "candles" were somewhat creepy—especially the ones with red bulbs. Even so, they are definitely a symbol of Christmas! I wanted to make a cover for the candles to make them pretty, but still keep them festive. Something you all should know about me is that I am slightly addicted to using toilet paper rolls in my craft projects. Naturally, I used them in this project as well!
