How-to: Kid-Made Recycled Cardboard Pendants

January 8th, 2013 | by Julie Finn

Kids love to make their own jewelry, and these pendants, crafted from upcycled cardboard, are especially fun to create and wear. The pendants cost no money, slip easily inside a letter to a pen pal, and, if the kid gets tired of wearing them, can be tossed right back into the recycling bin

Button Wreath Ornament

December 6th, 2012 | by Bonnie Getchell

I really miss all of the homemade ornaments that I would put on our Christmas tree when I was growing up. I loved the stories they brought each year as we put them on the tree. In order to start my own "stories," I've been trying to make my own Christmas ornaments. Last year I made these fabulous recycled magazine ornaments and this year I was inspired by Craftapalooza's button wreath!

I didn't want to buy any artwork from a big box store, so I decided to create my own. I've seen several projects on Pinterest that have lyrical artwork and they inspired me to make my own "It is Well" wall art. You can adapt this with your own favorite quote or lyric too! Here's how to do it!

How To: Upcycled Fabric Banner

August 30th, 2012 | by Bonnie Getchell

This week, my friend asked me to help her decorate for a baby shower that her family is hosting. Of course, I am super excited to help create one-of-a-kind decorations that are inexpensive and eco-friendly! Instead of using new fabric, though, I went to my local thrift store and bought old pillowcases and curtains in the colors that the mom-to-be wanted (brown, teal, and pink). Here's how you can make your own upcycled fabric banner!

How To: Fridge Frames from Cardboard Boxes

August 23rd, 2012 | by Bonnie Getchell

I saw an adorable frame idea on Pinterest from Leah at The Way We Are. Leah glued magnets to the back of picture frames in order to display her daughter's artwork in an organized and beautiful way. I had several cardboard boxes in my craft stash, so I decided to repurpose them into my own fridge frames!
