How-to: Make a Dream Catcher from Old Guitar Strings

loop to hang
You need to make two loops to get started. First, tie a slip knot in one end of your twine. This is the loop that your dream catcher will hang from. The other loop you need to make is with the guitar strings. Form a circle with the strings, and use your clothespin to hold them in place while you tie your twine loop to the top of the strings to secure them closed.

Now that you’ve got your frame all set, it’s time for even more loops! Ready?

I think even a vegan might be able to use a feather found on the ground.  I don’t think it was cruel for the bird to molt, and it certainly isn’t going to use it again.  You want to wipe it well w/ alcohol or something to make sure you don’t bring any mites or other ‘nasties’ into the house.

Another beautiful craft from used guitar strings: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BandsForBangles

I have one from some of Bo’s old strings, and it’s just as awesome as they look in the pictures!
