How-to: Shorten a Pair of Pants

Press and Sew

Use your iron to press your cuffs, and you’re ready to run them through the sewing machine. You’ll want to stitch about 1/8″ from the top of the fold, like in the photo below. You also might want to choose coordinating thread. I used this lovely contrasting green thread so you can follow along.

Now that you’ve sewn your pants all the way around, you’re ready to press them one more time, turn them right side out, and admire your handiwork! Hurrah!
