Make Homemade Eye Cream with Only 2 Ingredients

My favorite homemade eye cream recipe. It has with only two ingredients!

This is my new favorite night cream. It’s a homemade eye cream, and it only uses two ingredients. I bet you even have one or both of them in your house already.

It wasn’t until recently that I started hunting for a good eye cream, and y’all. The sticker shock. Anything that got a good review and met my requirements for safe, cruelty-free ingredients was super expensive. Shelling out $30 or more for a tiny little tub of eye cream is just not in my budget, so I decided to try making a homemade eye cream recipe instead.

I started out using just coconut oil, because wouldn’t it be awesome if that had worked? The coconut oil helped moisturize, but I didn’t feel like it was doing much for me in the under-eye bags department. One ingredient that I noticed in basically all commercial eye creams was vitamin E, so I tweaked my recipe a bit to include that important anti-wrinkle vitamin. After a few weeks, my eyes look less puffy and sleepy!

I originally shared my DIY eye cream recipe over at Feelgood Style, and I love it so much that I’m sharing it here, too. Enjoy!

Homemade Eye Cream Recipe

Don’t get sticker shock when you look at these ingredients! It only takes a small amount of each one to make this eye cream, so they’ll last you ages. The bottle of vitamin E oil, for example, contains 90 capsules. For this recipe, you need four capsules.

Ingredients and Supplies

+ small glass container (Here’s how to clean an old glass container to reuse!)

+ 3 tablespoons organic coconut oil

+ 4 vegetarian 400IU vitamin E capsules (the gel kind)

+ knife

+ fork

Directions

1. Spoon the coconut oil into your container, then use your knife to puncture the vitamin E capsules. Squeeze the liquid from the capsules into your container, then toss the capsules into your compost bin.

2. Use your fork to whip the vitamin E oil into the coconut oil. As you whip, the coconut oil will become creamier. Just keep on whipping until your two ingredients are well combined, and you have a nice, creamy mixture.

3. To apply, scoop a teeny, tiny bit (the size of a couple of grains of rice) onto your finger, and massage into your under-eye area, temples, and above your eyes before bed. In winter, you can also use this as a day cream.
