Fall Crafts: 4 Eco-Friendly Pumpkin Projects

Fall Crafts: 4 Eco-Friendly Pumpkin Projects

Call me crazy, but I’m already dreaming of fall! I’m ready for the cool weather, lots of gorgeous scarves, yummy pumpkin recipes, and most importantly, fall crafts!

Yesterday’s post, How To: Upcycle a Baby Food Jar into a Decoupaged Pumpkin, made me reminisce about all of the awesome pumpkin projects we’ve created here at Crafting a Green World. Here are 4 eco-friendly pumpkin projects to inspire you and get you in the mood for fall–just click on the title of each project to see the full tutorial! Oh, and even if you’re not ready for pumpkin crafting, you can pin these projects for later.

Fall Crafts: Eco-Friendly Pumpkin Projects

1. How To: Solar Jack-O-Lantern

Want to light up your walkway or patio with sweet solar jack-o-lanterns? You can easily create one (or a few) with this tutorial! I love the idea of reusing these every year, rather than buying a pumpkin that could potentially rot before Halloween. You could even leave the face off of the pumpkin for a neutral look

2. Embroidery Hoop Pumpkins

I often find embroidery hoops while thrifting, so I love finding creative ways to repurpose them! To create these embroidery hoop pumpkins, all you need are items that you probably already have in your craft stash. Check out the embroidery hoop pumpkin tutorial to see how to create your own!

3. Pumpkin Luminary Jar

Looking for a super simple pumpkin project? This pumpkin luminary jar is it! This project is a great way to repurpose all of those empty glass jars you have on hand, too. Put a beeswax tealight candle inside, and several of these cuties could light your patio or walkway. Head on over to the tutorial see how insanely easy it is to make!

4. Recycled Paper Pumpkins

These recycled paper pumpkins are my favorite pumpkin project that I’ve ever made. They do take a little longer to make and require more work, but the final result is totally worth the effort! I love their shape and texture– they’re oh-so-cute!

Which pumpkin projects are you inspired to make this year? If you have any pumpkin projects that you’ve made, share them in the comment section below or on our Facebook page! We would love to feature them on our Halloween and Fall Pinterest board!

  1. Here we don’t carve our pumpkins, we only paint on them, so we can use them to make food after Halloween. It’s 100% eco-friendly! 🙂 If we don’t plan to use them, we don’t buy them! My favourite is pumpkin potage!
