Embroidery Hoop Spider Web!

Embroidery Hoop Spider Web

Remember my embroidery hoop pumpkins? Well, they inspired me to make more embroidery hoop decorations for Halloween! Here’s how you can make your own embroidery hoop spider web:

What You Will Need:

1. Embroidery hoop

2. Twine. To make this project even more eco-friendly, consider using hemp twine.

3. Bottle cap

4. Toilet paper roll or other thin cardboard

5. Hot glue/hot glue gun

6. Scissors

7. Black permanent marker

8. Junk mail envelope or other white recycled paper

How To Do It:

1. Wrap your twine around the inside hoop of your embroidery hoop. I made a knot at the beginning and at the end to keep it in place. Then, put the hoops back together. Once you’re finished it should look like this:

Side note: Later on in the project, I decided to color my twine with my black permanent marker because I didn’t like all of the neutrals. I would color your twine before you wrap it, if you decide to do it that way. You could just buy black twine, but this twine is all I had on hand.

2. Color your bottle cap black with your permanent marker. This will become the body of your spider.

3. Cut out your spider’s “legs” from your toilet paper roll or other cardboard. Then, color them black as well.

4. Make a small flap at the top of the cardboard and hot glue the flap to the bottle cap.

5. Hot glue your spider to your twine.

Optional: Add eyes to your spider using a small part of a junk mail envelope. I cut out small circles from the envelope and then added a black dot to the center of each one for the spider’s eyes!
