Enter the Rainforest Art Kids’ Contest

Here’s a cool way for kids to get involved with the environment while stretching their artistic abilities.

Kids can support the Rainforest while showing off their creative talents!

The Rainforest Foundation will feature 12 Grand Prize winners in the 2012 Rainforest Foundation wall calendar. Kids in grades K-12 are eligible to enter the art contest by submitting one work of art depicting the child’s vision of the rainforest and the need for rainforest conservation.

Eight finalists will be chosen in three categories: grades K-5, grades 6-9, and grades 10-12. The 24 finalists will be chosen based on both artistic merit and how well the artist expressed the theme of rainforest protection. The 24 finalists will be featured on the Rainforest Foundation website, and the Rainforest Foundation Facebook page and 12 winners (4 from each age group) will then be chosen through an online public vote to be featured in the calendar. Each of the winners will also receive an assortment of art supplies.

To enter, be sure to have your artwork submitted by May 31. You can learn more about the contest here and download the entry form here.

And for the rest of the greenies out there you can enter the Show Us Your Green Photo Contest by taking a photo of something green, or of you doing something green.

  1. Could you please give me the information and entry form for your rainforest art contest. We did a rainforest unit for summer school and one of my students did a really nice job on an art project for it.
