Cleveland Rocks with Bazaar Bizarre: December 11-12, 2010
I can’t promise you that there will not be ducks in bonnets or painted wooden slices of watermelon.
No…wait. I CAN promise you that. This is Bazaar Bizarre that we’re talking about! There are no quillows at Bazaar Bizarre, unless maybe they’re shaped like tauntauns, or have dinosaurs on them. There are no crocheted tissue box covers, unless they have skulls ‘n crossbones crocheted into them. As one of the best of the national indie craft fairs, Bazaar Bizarre takes crafting to a whole new level, showcasing the kinds of stuff that only indie crafters could think up.
One thing about indie crafting–it’s got tons of eco-friendly, recycled, natural choices. Lots of indie crafters have green crafting as their specific mission, so shopping from them is like shopping handmade with bonus points. The cast of Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland 2010 will include, among other eco-friendly crafters, some of my special favorites:
- Bottle Green–items made with cool stuff from the beach.
- Cleo Dee’s–mostly squid-related products.
- Get Felt Up–items made from wool felt.
- Holly Hue–punk clothes, 90% recycled.
- Lulu’s Stabby Critters–needle-felted little things.
- No Whey! Chocolates–vegan sweets.
- Soap Alchemy–handmade soap.
Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland takes place on December 11-12, at 1301 West 78th Street. It’s not one of those crack-of-dawn craft fairs, either–shopping runs from noon-9 pm on Saturday, and noon to 6 pm on Sunday.
