Fab Fabrics: Ocean-Inspired Prints from Dotty Logic

Now that digital fabric printing services like Spoonflower offer organic cotton, amazing new eco-friendly fabric designers are popping up left and right! Jasonda, owner of Dotty Logic and a freelance graphic designer, saw digital printing as an opportunity to see her “designs on something a little more tangible and expressive than a computer screen.”

Jasonda talks a bit about her brand new Beachcomber collection:

I was inspired by the wonderful beaches and coastlines of British Columbia. One of the things that I love about the beach is how different it looks at various times of day. The warm pinks, soft yellows and cool grays I used in the design are based on the colours of a sunrise. I plan to release two more colourways for this collection (hopefully next year) – one for afternoon and one for evening.

All of her designs are on GOTS certified organic cotton and are digitally printed with non-toxic inks. It was important to her that she use organic fabric, because when she started thinking about how folks would be using her creations, she wanted to make sure it was healthy for “their homes, clothes for themselves and their children.”

Beyond her fabrics, Jasonda tries to reduce her packaging’s impacts, too! She hand-stamps all of her packaging, which she creates using recycled maps. You can check out all of Jasonda’s designs over in the Dotty Logic Etsy shop!
