[...] Crafting a Green World has an easy to follow post on how to mend that hole and extend the life of those jeans just a *bit* longer. Though the tutorial is for jeans, I think it can be extended to any pair of pants. [...]

Thank you for posting this! I have 5 pairs (yes, FIVE!) of my husband's work jeans with holes in the back pockets from the tools he stashes there... I tried using iron-on fabric to repair the holes & I'm sure you already know how well that worked ;>)

[...] One of the things that I like to do as an eco-friendly crafter and that I like to teach my children as a natural parent is to remember to have respect for our stuff. We should keep only what we can use or enjoy, and we should use and enjoy what we have. Thus I need to either use or lose my fleece stash, and that’s my goal this week. [...]

You can also find denim thread at the fabric stores-- it's thicker like the stuff that comes in jeans, and that weird darkish gold color. (Comes in a couple other colors too now, at least it did the last time I was at JoAnn's.) So that could make the match even closer. Comes in handy for upcycling old jeans into new skirts and bags and such too, since you still keep the denim styling!
