Yearn Worthy Yarn: Sirdar Eco Wool (U.K.)

Here’s another eco-friendly yarn option for those who use animal fibers: Eco Wool from Sirdar in the U.K.

Eco Wool comes in DK weight in 50 gram balls. It looks quite lovely and natural.

This yarn comes in five different and natural shades. Each skein is created by blending the natural colors of raw wool. No dyes or chemicals are used in the processing of this yarn.

I especially love the color Earth and Flint. What’s yours?

  2. it’s exciting that producers are starting to offer lower impact materials for us crafters but much of the pollution in the processing of wool comes from the pesticides which are applied directly to the sheep and in the chemicals used to process the wool prior to dying – i’m curious about the rest of the cycle if there is any more info- including the treatment and conditions the sheep of the sheep- thanks!
