A Review of The Green Wedding Guide by Valerie Edmunds

The Green Wedding Guide by Valerie EdmundsI think being green and crafting go hand in hand, especially when it comes to anything that involves decorating- mainly events like parties and weddings.

I love making things for parties and when it came to decorating my wedding I was very hands on. That’s why I really like The Green Wedding Guide: Creating a Celebration That’s Elegant and Ethical  by Valerie Edmunds.

Edmunds combines green wedding planning advice with eco-friendly wedding crafts for a one of a kind book eco-brides to be will love.

In my own green wedding guide-The Everything Green Wedding Book, I was only able to devote one chapter to DIY style eco-craft projects. I am so glad someone was able to put out more green craft ideas for weddings. Edmunds even includes some yummy organic recipes in addition to her projects and green advice.

Edmunds’ projects include: a fabric applique canvas tote bag, bamboo napkin rings and table runners, floral centerpieces and bouquets, organic jelly bean favors, mini pot bulb favors, seed packet favors, seed tossing cones, fans, a welcome wreath, floral head wreaths, invitations, and a bridal veil.

Personally I would love to see more wedding craft projects, more eco-ideas, designs and materials. I know the supplies are out there, I search for them everyday.

Edmunds did do a wonderful job though of combining everything into one book, green planning advice, how-to guides, projects and more. From the invitations to the honeymoon Edmunds offers great green advice in a glossy format that will catch your attention.

Valerie Edmunds also offers several DIY green favor projects on her green wedding planning website Green Elegance Weddings in addition to lots of eco-friendly wedding advice and links.
