Look at the plastic tube which encases each pencil - as environmentalists, we must say no to plastic. The amount of dioxin in that tube is laughable - so don't push these as being environmental. Check out O'BON pencils - now they are cool. While the smencil pencil certainly can be congratualated for their wonderful smells, but don’t hock them as being environmental – as they certainly are not! My duaghter's school sells these at it's school store and they are a huge moneymaker for the kids.
