While the smencil pencil certainly can be congratualated for their wonderful smells, but don't hock them as being environmental - as they certainly are not! Look at the plastic tube which encases each pencil - as environmentalists, we must say no to plastic. The amount of dioxin in that tube is laughable - so don't push these as being environmental. Check out O'BON pencils - now they are cool.

Thanks for your suggestion John, I love your products and will I will be sure to make mention in the future. What I like about Smencils is that they are, in fact, made from recycled materials, and have made environmentally conscious choices in using recycled plastic for their packaging. But more then that, they offer a fundraising opportunity, with a green edge, that is better then the wrapping paper, pizza and chocolate fundraisers out there.

The tubes are made from recycled plastic, and if you either recycle the tubes again or reuse them, there's not much harm done. My duaghter's school sells these at it's school store and they are a huge moneymaker for the kids.
